Questions
How are Schengen days counted?
Take the window of days ending on the check date, including it. Entry and exit days count; each calendar day counts once. In the example, on Sep 1, 2026 you have used 78 days and have 12 days left; the full allowance is back on Nov 19, 2026.
What if a planned trip does not fit?
The engine walks forward day by day from the entry date, like the European Commission calculator. In the example a 20 days plan does not fit; the full length fits if you enter on Oct 16, 2026 or later.
Do days in the temporary-protection country count?
No, while the permit is valid: that is a stay under the permit. Days in other Schengen states count. In the Poland example 73 days are not counted and 20 days are used.
Can I leave Poland for long with temporary protection?
According to the engine, temporary protection in Poland ends if you are away from Poland for more than 30 days. The engine warns about such a trip — see the “long stay in Spain” example.
Why does a rental cost more than the price on the site?
Fuel, cross-border, airport, extra mileage and the damage-excess risk come on top of the base. In the example Offer A has a base of €119 and an expected total of €527.
How much is Ukrainian motor TPL (OSTsPV)?
We do not compute that price: insurers set it themselves. Statutory limits are UAH 500,000 for life and health and UAH 250,000 for property per injured person. Compare real offers. This is not insurance advice.
